SunGard Public Sector’s OSSI Jail Management System (JMS) increases efficiency and allows corrections personnel to focus on the facility’s operations and the management of the inmates. JMS uses technologies such as bar coding and mobile devices to automate the operations, data collection, and management functions. From booking to release, JMS provides easy access and maintenance of data on all aspects of each inmate’s confinement. OSSI JMS is fully integrated with SunGard Public Sector’s OSSI Records Management System, eliminating duplicate data entry, ensuring data integrity, and providing comprehensive management reporting. These features are delivered with an unparalleled level of flexibility and ease of use.

Jail Management System Modules
Commissary – The JMS Commissary Module allows the facility’s users to enter, fill, and track inmate commissary orders. Orders can be filled using its own inventory or orders may be exported to a partner vendor for filling. Commissary is fully integrated with the Inmate Cash Account.
Handheld PC Medicine Dispensing – The Medication Dispensing Module allows users to download medication dispensing schedules to a handheld PC. Jail personnel can then use a handheld PC to record dispensed medication from anywhere in the facility. The interface displays the inmate’s image, full name, and cell location, as well as the medication name, dosage, and dispensing instructions. The recorded information is uploaded into OSSI JMS and becomes a permanent log of the transactions.
Integrated Mug Shot Module – The NIST-compliant Mug Shot Module captures mug shot photos through an external camera and associates them to a Master Name record, providing access whenever the name record is viewed. Multiple photos and photo sets can be taken for each name record. After photos are captured, additional mug shot functionality is available, including the ability to create and archive photo lineups for onscreen display or printout, mug shot book review, and mug shot quality assurance review.
Message Switch – The Message Switch software includes a query interface from the JMS application to the state computer system for NCIC queries as well as messages to the mobile units. In addition, the application can perform automatic wanted checks on inmates being released. Jail staff can use message switch to perform wanted checks on visitors from with the JMS application.
Special Watch – The Special Watch Module and Observation Log allows the agency to record inmate watch information at scheduled intervals. It lets users download watch/observation schedules to a handheld device. Jail personnel can then use a handheld device to record the results of the watch/observation anywhere in the facility. The recorded information is uploaded into JMS, which becomes a permanent log of the transactions.
Jail Management System Third-party Commissary Orders
Aramark Commissary Funds – This is a two-way interface between the OSSI JMS and Aramark Commissary. This interface will send the cash account balances of all active inmates to Aramark.
Aramark Commissary – This is an interface between the JMS system and the Aramark Commissary system. This interface allows for the sharing of JMS name and petty cash information so inmates can make commissary purchases from Aramark.
Canteen Commissary Funds - This is a two-way interface between the OSSI JMS and Canteen Commissary. This interface will send the cash account balances of all active inmates to Canteen.Inmate commissary orders are entered in Canteen's commissary system versus the OSSI JMS' commissary module.
Canteen Commissary – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS Commissary Module and Canteen Commissary Co. Once inmate commissary orders are entered into the OSSI JMS Commissary Module, the orders are then transferred to Canteen to be filled.
Keefe Commissary Funds – This is a two-way interface between the OSSI JMS and Keefe Commissary. This interface will send the cash account balances of all active inmates to Keefe. Inmatecommissary orders are entered in Keefe's commissary system versus the OSSI JMS commissary module.
Keefe Commissary – Keefe his is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS and Keefe Commissary. This interface sends inmate demographic information to Keefe at the time of booking. This demographic information assists in reducing data entry in the Keefe commissary application and increases data integrity between the two products.
Lockdown Commissary – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS Commissary Module and the Lockdown Commissary software. Lockdown is not vendor-specific software, but is commissary software used by several commissary vendors. This interface sends inmate demographic information to Lockdown at the time of booking.
Oasis Commissary – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS Commissary Module and Oasis Commissary Co. Once inmate commissary orders are entered into the OSSI JMS Commissary Module, the orders are then transferred to Oasis to be filled.
Oasis Optical Scanner – This is a one-way add-on interface between the Oasis Commissary Co and OSSI JMS Commissary Module. Inmate complete "bubble sheet" to place their commissary order. An optical scanner, provided by and purchased from Oasis, is required.
Swanson Commissary Booking – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS and Swanson Commissary. This interface sends inmate demographic information to Swanson at the time of booking. This demographic information assists in reducing data entry in the Swanson commissary application and increases data integrity between the two products.
Swanson Commissary – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS Commissary Module and Swanson Commissary Co. Once inmate commissary orders are entered into the OSSI JMS Commissary Module, the orders are then transferred to Swanson to be filled.
Jails Management System Third-Party Phone Systems
Evercom Phone System – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS and Evercom's Inmate Phone System. OSSI JMS passes information to Evercom to activate an inmate phone privileges after a booking is completed and deactivate the inmate's privileges them after release is completed.
IC Solutions Phone System – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS and the IC Solutions Inmate Phone System. OSSI JMS passes information to Securus to activate an inmate phone privileges after a booking is completed and deactivate the inmate's privileges them after release is completed.
Paytel Inmate Phone System – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS and the Paytel Inmate Phone System. OSSI JMS passes information to Paytel to activate an inmate phone privileges after a booking is completed and deactivate the inmate's privileges them after release is completed.
Securus™ Inmate Phone System – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS and the Securus Inmate Phone System. OSSI JMS passes information to Securus to activate an inmate phone

T-Netix’s Inmate Phone System – This is a one-way interface between the OSSI JMS and T-Netix's Inmate Phone System. OSSI JMS passes information to T-Netix to activate an inmate phone privileges after a booking is completed and deactivate the inmate's privileges them after release is completed.
LiveScan Interface – The LiveScan Interface passes the arrest portion of the booking record from the OSSI Application software to the LiveScan device, eliminating redundant data entry.
Jail Management System Interfaces
Northpointe/Southpointe Interface – The Northpointe Interface allows the Northpointe JICS to receive information from OSSI JMS to generate inmate classification data, which is routed back to OSSI JMS to record an inmate’s security classification. Similarly, the Southpointe interface allows the agency to generate inmate medical screening data.
VINE Interface – This interface allows participation in the nationwide VINE (Victim Information Notification Everyday) network. Complete inmate records are sent to VINE on a schedule determined by the agency. This timely reporting ensures the current inmate information is always available to the VINE program.
